It's funny how your taste evolves when doing up houses, rooms etc. I've discovered doing up Katie's Cottage (maybe it's because our cottage is over 200 years old) that I have very traditional, old style tastes in homeware. I love golds, creams and nutural palettes. I don't want things to date quick as quite frankly we aren't rich and won't be changing things in a hurry, just accessories and that over the years I'm sure. Got two of these outside lights for either side of the double doors in living room, they won't be to everyone's taste but I love them. The most beautiful place in the world😍 The Castle Bridge, Swans park which is by far the most peaceful tranquil place ever, surrounded by trees, a roaring river runs through it and there is little fairy houses, picnic tables and beauty everywhere. Or at least it was until a devasting flood ruined it in 2016 and the Irish goverment still hasn't restored it, which is such a pity as it's so sadly missed. Our family as did many others grew up having picnics, picking conkers and spending afternoons just roaming and having fun. We continued the tradition with our own families, our kids loved it as much as we did. This painting is by my mum, it's prob 40/50 years old. Isn't it fab? The room I am most looking forward to finishing in this house. The room that will be most used I'm sure. The Boot/utility room👢 I am sick of coats and shoes lying in all corners of the house. This room is huge, it's nearly the same size as our kitchen but its needed. Once it's done it will be floor to ceiling height units, high washer/dryer, big sink, shelves and storage. Actually can not wait, it's the room I've been planning on for years.
